My job as a coach is to help you define your own realistic goals based on your definition of success, your resources and abilities, and the value you place on success. Not everyone wants to be a millionaire, once they've thought about what they would have to do to make that amount of money. Most people want and need to balance a complex set of conflicting of needs, values, and goals. What's the point of building a thriving business, if you become a stranger to your spouse and children? What's the point of being a great husband, wife, mother, or father, if you can't provide for your family? What's the point of pursuing a career, while neglecting every human satisfaction outside it? It's completely legitimate to define success in terms of balancing work and family life, along with friends and recreation. Your satisfaction as a human being depends on it. My job as a coach is to see you live and work in a way which will satisfy all your values and all your needs, and to bring practical realism to the project. |

Life coaching isn't psychotherapy. We accept the fact that everyone has emotional issues and limitations. My goal as a coach is to help you work around those limitations. I will help you learn to cope with them, to manage them, and to free yourself to bring greater value to your life and the world. As a therapist, I know that the treatments I provide have a good, but limited response rate: usually around 75%. You may be part of the unlucky 25%. Or you may be someone who has gotten satisfactory treatment for a problem, but still struggles with residual problems. You may even be in long-term treatment. My job as a life coach is to provide you with the knowledge and support necessary to thrive despite it all. |

I like to give people options. If you live in New York City or on Long Island, I can provide face-to-face coaching in one of my offices. If you live somewhere else, but you have access to Skype or Face Time, we can arrange video calls. If you don't have an iPhone or broad-band access, we can talk on the telephone. If you really have difficulty with all of that, we can exchange emails or use Google chat. In fact, I encourage clients to use all of these ways of communicating, switching between them as their needs and resources permit. My job as a coach is to model the kind of flexibility that adds value to our lives and our world. |

Coaching isn't cheap, nor should it be. Try this little exercise: what associations do you have with the word 'cheap'. My best guess is that 'cheap' doesn't mean high quality in your world. It certainly doesn't in mine.
The following price list will be honored until January 1, 2012. My job as a coach is to provide benefits to my clients that far outweigh the cost of coaching. |
